The house
Set on the village square our luxurious Charantais style country house comfortably accommodates eight guests.
This character property combines historic features with the modern luxury of a solar heated indoor pool.
The ancient walls help to keep the house cool through the long hot summer months, and snug and warm during winter.
The house has a big kitchen, a well stocked library and lots of restful space.
There are peaceful gardens with vines and palms, a well and an ornate fountain
Please note that unfortunately EV vehicles cannot be charged at the house as we have no facilities to do so

La communication avec Nigel s’est très bien passée. Le gîte est adaptée à 8 personnes avec l’espace nécessaire. Il est impératif d’avoir une voiture pour pouvoir explorer les alentours.

Très beau gîte avec une superbe et grande piscine. L'endroit est très calme, idéal pour se reposer. La maison est très grande et bien équipée. Il manque juste un barbecue dans le jardin.

Having ample free parking, this 19th century country house is a great size and layout for two families.
Full of character and history but with modern luxury, the indoor pool is solar heated. Thick walls help keep the house cool in the long hot summer months and snug and warm during winter.
It was once 2 shops for the village (epicerie and boulangerie ) and what is now the pool room was the village salle de fete (village hall)
The house has 4 large bedrooms; a King sized bed, and a twin bedded room at each side of the house with a set of stairs leading to each set of 2 bedrooms.
The kitchen diner is at the heart of the house and overlooks the village square.
Upstairs from the kitchen are 2 of the bedrooms, a bathroom and the study.
Leading on from the kitchen is a spacious lounge with satellite TV (and a Chromecast) and its own library and then which leads gracefully through to a separate formal dining room.
The dining room then leads onto the indoor pool room that also has its own shower room and toilet.
The pool rooms high ceilings and beams give a wonderful sense of light and space.
The garden is accessible from the kichen and from the pool room and is in an Italian ornate style with raised beds, a lawn and its own well.
There is wifi meshed throughout the house and wifi is also available in parts of the garden.
We do have a very small wild honey bee nest in one of the outer walls of the house but the bees keep to themselves and are actually very friendly little things.
However, as with all areas in warmer parts of France, insects are many and varied and visitors should use appropriate sprays and repellents where they deem it necessary
