The house
Domaine de Chantageasse has several holiday homes and, during the summer holidays, four chambres d'hôtes including breakfast. There is room for a total of 35 to 40 people.
Holiday home La Mésange is a spacious gîte, located on the courtyard garden near the playground with plenty of lawn for extensive playing.
Downstairs you have a spacious living room with fully equipped kitchen. dining table and sitting area. Upstairs you will find 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
This cottage is suitable for 6 people, however, a cot can be added.
Ground floor:
Entrance, kitchen fully equipped with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, hob, oven, microwave, Senseo coffee machine and kettle.
Living room with dining table and seating area. Staircase.
1st floor:
1 bedroom with a double bed. Bathroom with shower, washbasin and toilet.
1 bedroom with a double bed (from 2023) and two single beds. Bathroom with shower, washbasin and toilet.
Outside:
Garden set in front of the gîte, by the courtyard garden.

Domaine de Chantageasse is an authentic farmstead situated on the edge of the Cognac region. Surrounded by fields of grapes, rapeseed, wheat and/or sunflowers. Close to a typical French village but also at a short distance (6 km) from the larger town of Saint Jean d'Angély.
St Jean has a rich history, in the centre there are several attractions, original half-timbered houses and the "L'Abbaye Royale" and its buildings (UNESCO). There are several bars for a drink and no lack of restaurants. At Plan d'eau on the river Boutonne one can fish, canoe, kayak and pedalo. Next to it is the swimming pool Le Centre Aquatique Atlantys, with various facilities such as a jacuzzi, a hammam and a sauna. Furthermore, St Jean offers minigolf, a kart track, a skateboard track, tennis, a mountain bike track and a motor cross track.
The cosy seaside resort Fouras can be reached in 40 minutes. The larger cities Royan and La Rochelle, suitable for beach and shopping, can be reached within an hour.
In the Cognac region, there are 4 beautiful tourist wine routes to drive, varying from 68 km to 173 km. You can take a look at the various cognac houses and enjoy the peace of the vineyards.
There are several golf clubs in the area within an hour. For an 18-hole course you can go to Saintes, la Rochelle, Niort or Cognac.
For the little ones, there is water fun in Port Miniature in Saint Savinien, where they can sail in boats themselves.

Restaurants, food & wine
The Charente-Maritime has many local products to offer, which you can find at the covered market in Saint Jean d'Angély on Wednesday and Saturday mornings, and also in the many restaurants in the area. And on our domain the Pineau tastes extra fine.
Oysters and mussels, Cognac and Pineau de Charente, sea salt from the islands, all local products to try or to take back to the Netherlands as a souvenir.
A Cognac/Pineau tasting should not be missed in this holiday. We will inform you about the possibilities and if desired organise a tasting for you.
Activities
During the summer holidays, there is plenty to do for the children. They quickly make friends with whom they can play table tennis, swing or play in the climbing house with slide and sandpit. The large swimming pool and the trampoline remain everyone's favourites.
The children sometimes organise a football or table tennis tournament on their own initiative, and when dusk falls, old-fashioned tag and hide-and-seek are still popular.
Outside the summer holidays, it is mainly enjoying the peace, space and getting out to explore the area. Runners love to cover kilometres around Chantageasse, and you can also make beautiful trips on a road bike or mountain bike.
Further remarks
Domaine de Chantageasse is an ideal place for weddings and groups.
Thanks to the sea climate, this region has a very pleasant temperature for a large part of the year (2600 sun hours).
Our aim is to offer both adults and children a pleasant holiday spot. You will stay in a relaxed environment where holiday becomes holiday again.
