The house
My charming cottage is secluded and free on a huge plot with its own driveway. You are completely alone here: there are no neighbours and neither is the owner. You overlook the beautiful Normandy countryside and it is completely dark at night. You can't find holiday homes where the neighbours live further away! It is a simple cottage but the basics are there: there is a kitchenette with an oven and a fridge-freezer, a large wood-burning stove (the wood is free), a washing machine, a lounge. On the first floor is a double bed, a bathtub and a work area. There is a covered terrace overlooking the meadows. You can enjoy the enormous peace and quiet. From the cottage, there are many nice things to do: Mont Saint Michel, the beach, castles, 2nd World War history, good food.
This cottage is for nature lovers, who want to be alone, love hiking and like to explore Normandy. When you get home in the evening you can cook and enjoy the big wood-burning stove, the bathtub or the covered terrace, à bientôt!

You can enjoy beautiful walks through the meadows or through one of the beautiful forests in the area right from the cottage. Be sure to visit Mont Saint Michel, where you can explore the island and monastery or take a guided walk in the bay. The nearby beach of Jullouville offers great opportunities for surfing and eating crepes.
Medieval towns to explore include Domfront, which is nearby and known for its castle ruins and cosy streets. The nearby towns of Vire and Tinchebray are also worth a visit, where you can enjoy cosy markets, brocantes and cosy restaurants. Other lovely towns nearby are Fougeres and Falaise, with a castle of William the Conqueror. Bayeux is famous for its D-Day beaches and carpet. The nearby islands of Jersey and Guernsey are also worth visiting. In Caen, you can visit the D-Day museum and castle, good to combine with a day of shopping.
After booking, you will receive more information about these attractions and walks in the area.

Restaurants, food & wine
Norman cuisine is known for its rich and creamy dishes, with plenty of butter, cream and cheese such as Camembert, Pont-l'Évêque and Livarot. Fresh seafood, such as oysters and scallops, also play a big part. Drink Norman cider, calvados (apple brandy) and pommeau, a sweet mix of cider and calvados, with this. Perfect to end your meal in style!
