Hill Crest is perfect for large groups, with plenty of space inside and out for families and friends to enjoy a fabulous holiday.The ground floor comprises a well-furnished 30 sq m lounge with a wood burner fireplace and a spacious well-quipped kitchen/diner – also with wood burner – a downstairs toilet and a children’s play room.
Upstairs, you’ll find five bedrooms, offering enough space to accommodate nine people comfortably.

Hill Crest Gite is 10 miles south of the bustling market town of Vire, the capital of the beautiful Calvados region of Normandy. We’re an easy drive from the Euro Tunnel at Calais, and the Channel ferry ports of Cherbourg and Caen.
If you’re looking for a base from which to explore the many attractions of Lower Normandy, then you won’t find a better location than Hill Crest. From here, you’re around an hour’s drive from the D-Day beaches, Bayeux, Swiss Normandy, Mont Saint Michel and much more.
There’s plenty to see and do nearby too. Fishing, walking, sailing, cycling… with Lake Dathee and the magnificent Saint Sever forest both about 10 minutes away.

Wij hebben 3 weken lang genoten van de rust en de ruimte in en om het huis. In de grote tuin is bijna altijd wel een plekje te vinden (in de zon, in de schaduw, uit de wind, zicht op het mooie uitzicht) waar je heerlijk kunt vertoeven. Ook het terras bij het huis is een prima plek om te kunnen eten. In het huis is ook alles aanwezig om je te vermaken als het wat minder weer is. Aan echt alles is gedacht.
Daarnaast hebben wij ook veel van de omgeving gezien, plaatsen bezocht en zeker ook de stranden van D-day. Wij hadden twee meiden bij ons die het heerlijk vinden om paard te rijden, daar zijn volop mogelijkheden toe.Sheila and Tony, thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home and thank you for your hospitality! We enjoyed our stay very much!!

De ontvangst van ons gezelschap van 7, 4 volwassenen en 3 kinderen in de leeftijd van 10, 2 1/2 en 1 was hartverwarmend en we voelde ons direct thuis. Het huis overtrof onze verwachtingen. Royale, smaakvol; ingerichte ruimtes met comfortabele meubels. Fijne bedden met prachtig linnengoed. Aan alles was gedacht. De leefkeuken werd een geliefde plek evenals de speelkamer voor de kinderen.
De enorme, goed onderhouden tuin was fantastisch en ook veilig. De trampoline, het voetbalveld, de schommels en glijbaan, het zwembad maakte het een supervakantie.
In de 14 dagen dat we er waren hebben we ons niet verveeld.
Het huis bleek geschikt voor alle weertypes. Bij regen was het binnen goed vertoeven met alle aanwezige spelletjes, Netflix etc. Bij tropische temperaturen was het binnen koel en waren er ventilatoren om het koel te houden..
Genoten hebben we ook van de stilte en de prachtige uitzichten.

This is a wonderful gite in a fantastic location. Tony and Sheila have thought of everything a family could need whilst on holiday - from lovely age tailored colouring on arrival to multiple high chairs and kids plates etc. The gardens are beautiful, and the location is brilliant - private and quiet but short drives to local villages and lakes. We will be back!!

With our three acres of orchards, fields and lawns, surrounded by unspoilt panoramic views of the countryside and no traffic, there’s plenty of safe open space for you to enjoy and for the children to safely let off steam.
There are also plenty of quiet areas if you’re looking to simply take in the views, paint, have a glass of local wine and enjoy some peace, quiet and relaxation.
