The house
The Julou gîte is rated 3* by Manche Tourisme. It is located in the countryside near Ste Mère Eglise and 7 km from Utah-Beach in the small village of Turqueville. It can accommodate a maximum of 5 people and your pet. It has separate enclosed grounds with terrace, garden furniture, sun loungers and barbecue.
Ground floor: fully equipped kitchen (oven, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine). Cleaning products are available in the gite). WC. Living room (TV and DVIX player, cable internet network and Wifi).
1 Floor: Shower room (shower, WC, washbasin). 1 bedroom for 3 people (1 single bed 90cm and 1 double bed 140cm).
2 Floor: Bedroom on mezzanine (1 x 160cm bed for 2 people). The gite is very comfortable, tastefully decorated and bright. Very quiet.

We hebben deze zomer genoten van een heerlijk verblijf in gîte Julou.
Het appartement is van alle gemakken voorzien, heeft fijne bedden en een aangename badkamer, en de prachtige tuin geeft mogelijkheid voor zonaanbidden of heerlijk vertoeven in de schaduw. De eigenaren zijn op een fijne manier betrokken. Met de fietsen hebben we in de buurt leuke trips kunnen maken, de rustige omgeving is heel geschikt om met elkaar te wandelen of te fietsen om zo het mooie Normandie te leren kennen. Gite Julou ligt op een goede bereikbaarheid voor alle invasiestranden, maar ook voor dagtrips op La Manche en naar Mont st. Michel en steden als Caen en Bayeux zijn makkelijk bereikbaar. Aanrader voor rustzoekers die de afwisseling van de natuur , cultuur en historie waarderen!Comment from Sylvie Beaussin

Heerlijk huisje, ruim en schoon met hele mooie tuin en alle privacy. Fietsen stonden voor ons klaar en ontzettend vriendelijke eigenaren. We hebben genoten van de omgeving. Een aanrader wanneer je houdt van rust en natuur met voldoende te zien en te beleven in de nabije omgeving.

Hebben een heerlijke week gehad in Julou. Keurig huis, rustig gelegen, met alle voorzieningen. 2 ruime slaapkamers met fijne bedden. Prima badkamer met fijne douche. Keuken eenvoudig maar oke. Eetkamer wat donker. Woonkamer prima maar klein.
Heerlijke grote tuin met ligstoelen en mooie bbq. Ideaal voor de hond ( muur & hek )
Mooie omgeving en 10 (auto) minuten van het strand - Utah beach en St Merie Eglise.
Sylvie en man zijn erg vriendelijk en laten je in alle rust.
Restaurants, food & wine
Our region is rich in seafood. Our regional speciality is cider made from apples, as well as Calvados. You can sample regional dishes in the region's many restaurants. A local market is held on Tuesday afternoons in July and August.
Activities
Our gîte is located 40 km from the Cité de la Mer in Cherbourg and 20 km from the Ile de Tatihou. There are many D-Day sites and museums to visit. You can also explore the paths on foot or by bike. The sea is 7 km away, with its fine sandy beaches. Numerous water sports are available on the coast (sand yachting, sailing, etc.) Birdwatching reserves and boat tours of the marshes. La Hague, on the west coast, has remained wild and is a great place to visit. You can play golf 10 km from the gite on the Fontenay sur Mer green.
Mont St Michel is 2 hours' drive from the gite.

Further remarks
Bicycles are available during your stay, as well as garden furniture with a table and 6 chairs, 2 deckchairs and a barbecue. The fully enclosed and private grounds are 300 m2 with lawn and a yard for your vehicle.

Oil-fired central heating is included in the price. Not included: pellet for the stove is €5 per bag.
Sheets and household linen are included in the price.
The tourist tax is not included in the 2025 rate. It is €1.10 per person (over 18) per day.
