While you are here you can have fun in the swimming pool with its beautiful views or just relax, put your feet up and read a magazine while the children play in the play Barn – favorites hang out for the parents and little ones and the perfect escape to give mum or dad a lie in.

All guests are invited to make full use of the amenities on offer at La Mare Chappey these have included a wonderful child friendly heated 28C swimming pool with anti-slip surface throughout, 5 meter wide beaching area with shallow entrance area 80cm to maximum 1.50m, of course a delightful terrace for relaxing in the sun, pool toys and floats to use;; playpen to keep little ones secure whilst Mum and Dad swim; Strict French regulations ensure that it is extremely safe for children with fencing, Child Safety Gate and life-saving equipment to prevent any mishaps. Open all the time with no restriction on hours apart from when we need to clean and check the water; swim nappies are required for the under 2,

Indoor Play Barn and Games Room:
provides space to play for everyone in the family. For babies on the move or toddlers finding their feet, this area is wonderful for keeping them all amused.

Older children and adults can shoot some baskets, or play table foot, table tennis and finally air hockey which brings out the most competitive side in all families, while keeping an eye on little ones in the Play area while they amuse themselves for hours, or parents can sit read a good book or magazines and simply marvel at the impossible – a relaxing holiday with young children!
Courtyard Bistro
In the style of a typical French village auberge and bar, the Bistro offers everything from an ice-cold draught beer from the well-stocked bar, to a tasty snack or home-made three or four course meal in elegant and relaxing surroundings.

Outside is the chic terraced area, complete with pool table and other bar games, where guests can enjoy a lazy few hours and the tranquillity of the Normandy countryside.

Bistro offers a unique in cottage dining service the same menu offered in the Bistro, but delivered course by course at a time that suits you! Proven to be very popular with young families after the little ones have settled, Mum & Dad can relax and enjoy their time.

The bouncy Castle is the perfect way to combine fun and healthy activity, offer kids of all ages
0-90 exciting aerobic activity. This Castle is extremely safe has 360-degree mesh windows, so parents and spectators can have a clear view of all the fun without the risk of little ones falling out.

Local Facilities
Although tucked away from the disturbances of modern-day life, La Mare Chappey is within easy walking distance of the tiny Normandy village of Nehou with its welcoming bar and shop (known for its fresh baguettes and croissants!) Also an Exhibition is fully dedicated to one of the most famous generals of the Second World War: General George S. Patton. Who was based here in Nehou.
A special cycling and walking route lies just 400 metres away from the Manoir where there was once an old railway line through Normandy and within a few minutes' drive is the beautifully preserved cobbled medieval town of Bricquebec, Normandy.

The town boasts a good selection of shops, supermarkets, bars, restaurants, an historic chateau and bustling Monday-morning market, famous throughout the Normandy region for its diverse range of tantalising fresh produce.

A few minutes in the other direction is Normandy's St-Sauveur-le-Vicomte, which again offers a good range a shops, bars and restaurants, together with its own canoeing centre - perfect for those who like splashing about in water on their holiday! Forest Adventure centre enthralling tree climb experience for all ages. Those who enjoy rambling through a forest, the Foret de St Sauveur le Vicomte is just on the edge of the town. It has dedicated pathways of differing lengths which are colour coded and signposted and range from 45 minutes to 2 hours. Just in case odd rainy day there’s also indoor swimming pool to let the little ones run off some steam.

Some of the most glorious and deserted Blue-Flag beaches on Normandy's Cherbourg Peninsula - including Barneville Plage, Carteret, Surtainville, and Portbail - are within a fifteen minute drive from La Mare Chappey here in Normandy; Many of these offer a wide variety of water-sports activities, bustling marinas, plus the opportunity of a day-trip by ferry to the nearby island of Jersey.

GOLF:
There is a links golf course at St. Jean de la Riviere(18 mins). There are two nine hole courses at La Glacerie, Cherbourg (25 mins) and there are 18 hole golf courses at Coutainville (40 mins) and Granville (1 hour).
