Ferme de Beaumont

About 700 km from Utrecht, 10 km from the beautiful old town of Bayeux, 4 km from the sea and in the heart of the history of D-Day (the Allied landing in Normandy in 1944) lies this beautiful old and cosy ferme.

The Gîte is an 18th century granary that has been transformed into a spacious (2 times 60 m2), attractive and comfortable holiday home. There is room for 8 people in total and it has its own kitchen, bathroom, large terrace and fireplace. As a group accommodation for larger families and groups, a combination with 1 or more rooms is of course always possible. The entrance of the cottage is inside the 'Cour', but the terrace is completely private at the back of the house with a beautiful view over the rolling countryside with the Mairie (the town hall) of Russy in the distance.

In the surroundings you will find the impressive landing beaches. The long and wide Omaha beach, 5 km from the ferme, is suitable for a good walk, sunbathing or flying a kite. There is a sailing school and boats and surfboards can be hired. Nearby are many museums and relics of the Second World War. Do not forget to visit the Bayeux Tapis. The Tapis shows the conquest of England by William the Conqueror on a 70 metre long tapestry. There is also a golf course nearby (3x9 holes).
