Eco-Gites of Lénault is a spacious gite located in a rural location in Normandy, on the edge of Swiss Normandy. It sleeps 5 people in 3 bedrooms.
Note, if you wish to stay for a period of less than 7 nights please contact us directly for a price as the rate will depend on the length of your stay.
Inside the gite
Downstairs is open plan on two levels linked by 3 steps. The upper level is the well-equipped kitchen with plenty of crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. The lower level is the dining room with dining table and chairs for 6 and the living room with 2 comfy sofas and a wood burner.
First Floor
Master bedroom with a double bed.
Second bedroom with 2 full sized twin beds.
Bathroom with a large shower, toilet, wash basin and washing machine.
Second Floor
Mezzanine bedroom with a full sized single bed. Due to the nature of this room we do not recommend children under 5 sleep.
The mezzanine also acts as a play room with toys, games and books supplied for children of all ages.
We supply bed linen and towels for your stay.
All three bedrooms have space for the travel cot which we supply if needed (please note we do not supply bedding for the cot).
Outside
The gite has it's own garden with table and chairs, sun umbrella and BBQ. Nearby children can entertain themselves in our large play area where there is also a boules pitch.
On our smallholding we have poultry and pigs and children can help collect the eggs.
Eco-Gites of Lenault welcomes visitors all year round. It is highly insulated so stays cool in summer and warm in cold weather.
We look forward to welcoming you to Eco-Gites of Lenault and please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Surroundings
We are in a quiet rural location on the edge of Swiss Normandy, an area famed for its outdoor activities. We are 4 hours from Paris and 7 hours from Amsterdam.
The gite is within easy reach of Bayeux, Mont St Michel, Jurques Zoo, Honfleur, Falaise and the D-Day Landing beaches (which are wonderfully family friendly). Close-by there are countless castles, galleries and museums, swimming pools, cycle routes, soft play areas, tree-top trails, theme parks and so much more just waiting for you and your family to discover. You really won't be at a loss for things to do what-ever the season and what-ever the weather.
For walkers, an extensive network of footpaths starts right from our back gate so you can explore and enjoy the beautiful local countryside, IF you can drag the children away from the play area! We have written a series of walking routes you can try ranging from under 1km to over 11 and further if combined.

Reviews
Alexandra from Hilversum,
We spend two weeks in this gîte and had a wonderfull time. Very nice and friendly hosts. We loved the hikes direct from the gîte and Domfront a small medieval village with a castle ruins. The gîte was perfect for us, comfortable couches, full equipment kitchen. The (farm) animals gives you a relax feeling and they were sometimes hilarious. We highly recommand this because you can also see a lot of things from here and come back to relax in the gîte.
Remko from Zwolle,
Comment from Rosie HILL
Diana from Paris,
We chose September for our visit to Eco-Gites of Lenault and it was a lovely break with our young children and a complete change form where we live in Paris! The little ones loved the play area and there was so much to discover as we walked along the paths in the local area. Blackberry picking was much enjoyed by all of us. We also visited Clecy, Falasie Castle and the market at Vire. Would highly recommend Eco-Gites of Lenault both for adults and for children.
Restaurants, food & wine
This part of Normandy (Calvados) is known for some great culinary delights including Camembert, cider and seafood. Every local town has a wonderful selection of quality restaurants and there are "caves" selling cider, wine and Calvados (apple brandy) etc. Despite its small size Lenault boasts its own small pizzeria, open at weekends (not in winter) and the next village has an artisan baker selling the most delicious bread and patisseries.
Activities
Eco-Gites of Lenault is ideally placed for those who wish to discover this part of Normandy by foot or bike. An extensive network of footpaths starts at our gate and we have written a series of circular walks to help you discover the local countryside. All the following are available locally:
Horse riding:
There are 2 local riding stables where you can walk, trot or canter round the local footpaths or why not head up to the beach at Ouistreham where you'll get to gallop along the beaches?
Mountain biking:
Bring your own bike or you can hire them in Clécy and enjoy the ups and downs of our beautiful Normandy countryside.
Husky rides:
YES, even in Normandy you can take a ride in a husky sled (no snow needed) with the Will To Go huskies who are based right here in Lénault.
Kayaking and Canoeing:
If water sports is your thing you can canoe or kayak on both rivers and lakes locally. For children under 8 you can take the more gentle route of pédalos, rowing or even electric boats!
Luges (Summer Toboggans):
All the fun of a downhill run without the need for snow. We have 2 locally at Clécy and Souleuvre.
Rock climbing:
On the cliffs above Clécy there are a number of marked ascents you can climb - bring your ropes etc and up you go!
Via Ferrata cliff walk and zip wire:
If you don't have your own climbing gear then why not do the cliff-side walk also at Clécy - climb up narrow ladders set into the cliff and then across the cliff face on a series of rope and plank walk getting back to ground level via a 250m zip wire.
Tree top walks:
For more high walking what about a treetop walk? There are various locations locally making a great family outing for those who like heights!
Viaduct de Souleuvre:
Here things are a bit more serious! For everyone there is a 1km giant toboggan run. For the more daring souls you'll find 2 giant swings and bungee jumping.
Paragliding
Or what about what may be the ultimate thrill - are you brave enough to try paragliding over our Normandy countryside?
- Near hiking trails
- Near ATB trails
- Near riding
