The house
We named the gîte La Grange (attic) so because it has such a high ceiling and a fine sleeping and playing loft upstairs: ideal for families with children.
The high ceiling gives the living room a lot of space and the large windows make it very bright. This cottage too was originally a calf stable and we renovated it ourselves. Many old details have been kept, to which we added new ones according to our own ideas. Like the kitchen with its concrete counter top and large old sink.
Everything in period style, but with today's conveniences. For instance, there is underfloor heating in the farmhouse holiday home. This draws heat from the farm and uses it to heat the 2 gîtes to a comfortable temperature. Where necessary, this can be supplemented in winter or on cold days with the available electric heater.
La Grange is attached to our other gîte, and overlooks our garden, where children can play on the trampoline, slide and swing. Or on the grass which lends itself to playing or lazing around.
Of course, the children can also:
visit the cows or calves
watch the milking
even take the cows out to pasture in summer
feed the chickens
collecting eggs with our children
playing with our dogs
or doing nothing and enjoying the peace and quiet of a farm.

The gite La Grange is located in the yard of our farm, not far from our own house, you can hear the calves and cows, where you can (almost) always go and have a look.
Our farm is located about 4 kilometres from the village of Bonnebosq, where you will find a bakery, grocery shop and butcher, as well as 2 restaurants (via the small roads, this can be done on foot, or by bike, although there is a big difference in altitude between the village and our farm).
It is in the heart of the Calvados, about 10 kilometres from the picturesque Pont L'eveque (where there is also a large supermarket, and a wider range of shops and restaurants)
about 20 minutes from the beach, 10 minutes from a large lake.

our gites are located in the Calvados, this is the famous strong alcoholic drink that comes from this region, it is made from the cider apples, from which first cider is made and then "distilled" into Calvados, everywhere in the region you can get guided tours and tastings (at big well-known houses, or at nice little farms) is definitely worth doing, and we will gladly help to advise you which one is interesting for you!
Of course, you also have the fish and shellfish available all along the coast, and other typical Norman dishes such as teurgoule, the cheeses from Pont L'eveque or Livarot, etc.
