The house
Villa Ambiance has a large, cosy living room with an open-plan kitchen. The modern kitchen is equipped with all modern conveniences such as a dishwasher, luxury oven, fridge-freezer, induction cooker, microwave, etc. The 2 comfortably furnished bedrooms are each furnished with 2 single box-spring beds, which can also be joined together to form a generous double bed.
The modern bathroom has a bath and separate shower and the toilet is in the hall. All the rooms mentioned are on the ground floor.
The large sliding doors in the living room make it a light house with a beautiful view.
The house is well insulated and has electric radiators in every room. There is internet and TV with satellite (all Dutch channels and many other channels) and DVD recorder with many DVDs for a fun movie night. There are also jeu de boule, badminton set and board games. At 2 km. distance is a tourist office and launderette.

From the terrace a panoramic view of hills, woods and the village. This new detached villa is quietly situated on the edge of an authentic village on 1500 m2 land.
This village with only local traffic lies in the Lorraine, near the town Dun sur Meuse, 35 km above Verdun and the distance from Eindhoven is 350 km.
There is a large swimming lake at 2 km. distance. Also the Meuse river runs through Dun sur Meuse and there are water sports and fishing possibilities also with fish ponds.

Een mooie week gehad in jullie prachtige huis met alles erop en eraan. Heerlijk rustig met veel privacy in een mooie omgeving met veel bezienswaardigheden. Echt een huis om nog eens naar terug te gaan.

Op het allerlaatste moment nog een weekje geboekt. Voor het huis en omdat we nieuwsgierig waren naar de omgeving. Als je Noord Frankrijk zegt denk je niet gelijk aan een vakantiebestemming. Je kent het alleen van doorrijden op weg naar het zuiden. Het heeft ons verbaasd. Groene heuvels, de kronkelende Maas genoeg te bezoeken. Het huis is ruim, schoon, en voorzien van alles wat je nodig hebt. Als we toch iets willen opmerken dan vonden we het jammer dat we onze fietsen niet binnen konden zetten, die vonden het zeker geen leuke week zo in de regen.

Prachtig modern ruim huis, zeer smaakvol en comfortabel ingericht met vele extra's. Veel privacy en rust aan de rand van het kleine dorpje. En genoeg bezienswaardigheden in de buurt. Is ons uitstekend bevallen dus!
Restaurants, food & wine
At 2 km distance in Dun sur Meuse are several restaurants with terraces, cafes and a supermarket. In Stenay at 15 km is an Intermarche, Lidl and others. Verdun has a boulevard with many terraces directly on the Meuse. The European beer museum is located in a citadel in Stenay and in the vicinity are wine houses to visit.
Activities
Endless walks in a beautiful wooded, hilly area with historical villages and close to a swimming lake with sandy beach. Many memorials of the 1st World War.
In the town of Romagne, 10 km away, is the largest American cemetery in Europe, some war museums. Also there are excursions to the trenches etc. Verdun with many attractions is 35 km away. In a radius of 100 km are Metz, Reims and Nancy. For young people and parents there is a nearby adventure park with a climbing course in a forest.
Also nearby, you can rent canoes, rental of bicycles (gears or electric) and mountain bikes, pedal boats or a trip with a tour boat on the Meuse. Almost every village organises a cosy flea market (brocante).
In our house you will find an information folder about the activities, such as flea markets, trips, walking and cycling routes, events, etc.

An unlimited Wifi subscription is expensive to buy for us in France, because we do not want to increase the rent for this, we have bought a mobile Wifi rauter, and the tenants can buy their own WiFi ticket ( pret a surfer ) at the tobacco shop nearby. Often the tenants use their own mobile bundle and near the campsite with swimming lake, freely accessible, free WiFi is available, also near the tourist office.
