Do you want to know more about the First World War? Dombras is situated 20 minutes from the former battlefield. A great base to go and see some remains of WW1.
Also 45 minutes from Luxembourg.

Dorus Hoffs from Lelystad,
Zeer fijne Gite waar alles aanwezig was. Hele mooie authentieke stijl, niet strakgetrokken en vernieuwd aan de tijd maar dat heeft zn charme.
Open haard en bad waren een groot pluspunt. Ruime kamers.
Het dorp was erg stil, net als de omgeving met het verkeer.
Het was net alsof je terug in de tijd stapte.
Contact met de eigenaar was zeer fijn en behulpzaam, en nam de tijd voor onze vragen over het huis en de omgeving.
Goede lokatie om naar Luxemburg, Verdun of het geweldige plaatje Marville te reizen.
Contact met de Locals ging ook erg gemakkelijk.

We hebben een fijne vakantie gehad in een mooie gite. Leuke uitstapjes gemaakt naar o.a. Verdun, Metz, Luxemburg, Longwy en de Abdij van Orval. Zeker de Andij is een aanrader. De gite ligt in een rustige omgeving. Mensen in de straat zijn allemaal vriendelijk.
De eigenaren van de gite een paar keer gesproken, ze zijn heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam.Familie Benard from 'S-gravenzande,
Huis is ruim en schoon. Eigenares kwam op dag 5 langs. Zeer vriendelijk. Inrichting is wel wat verouderd, terrastegels en 1 schuifpui deur was stuk. Beiden zullen vervangen worden zei de eigenaresse.
Meubilair buiten ook aan vervanging toe. Achtertuin word regelmatig bezocht door de katten van de buren. Omgeving zeer rustig.
Veel regen gehad, we misten de Nederlandse tv.
Activities
Walking maps and cycling routes with stage descriptions available. Nearby is Verdun with its war history, the battlefields, the museums and the cemeteries.
There is also the abbey of Orval with its beer of the same name. The castle of Charmois, in the summer months the castle of Louppy. There is the citadel of Montmedy and its underground barracks. Marville the Renaissance village. Fermont the defence against the German invasion of 1940.

Further remarks
While preserving the façades, a completely new contemporary house was created in the old farmhouse dating back to 1792.
Spacious and practical. With lots of light and a beautiful terrace. The garden of 350 m2 has all day sun. The adjacent barn has a shed for bicycles.

Dogs are welcome, but we do ask for an extra charge of 30 euro per dog per stay.
The cost of pellets used for heating in the cold season will be calculated separately according to consumption and deducted from the deposit.
