The house
Ideal holiday home for peace seekers and lovers of the French countryside! A lovely place with lots of peace and space in and around the house. With plenty of opportunities for trips in the Haute Marne and Burgundy and activities in the area.
Upon arrival, the beds are nicely made and a welcome drink is waiting for you!
Holiday home Maison La Resaigne is a typical French country house of this region and has an attractive, fully equipped kitchen with a large, luxury gas cooker on the ground floor. Adjacent is the cosy living room (approx 25 m2) with a wood-burning stove and dining table. Bathroom with shower and toilet.
On the first floor are 3 bedrooms and a study with desk.
The large bedroom (former drawing room) has a double bed 1.80 x 2.00, the beds can also be separated. The master bedroom can be reached through the study.
The second bedroom with double bed 1.80 x 2.00 and a second toilet are also upstairs. All beds are equipped with pillows and duvets.
On the ground floor at the back of the house is a utility room with dishwasher, freezer, dryer and a laundry room with washing machine,
Adjacent is a large barn with seating; dry when it rains or as a cool place in summer. The house has a low walled garden with terrace, it is located on a stream (La Resaigne) with lawns and meadows around the house. Behind the house is another terrace for the morning sun or a lovely shady spot for warmer days.
The holiday home is detached on the edge of the village.
The living room and kitchen can be heated with a wood-burning stove.
One set of towels per person and kitchen textiles are included.

Only 20 km from the Route du soleil A 31! The quiet village is 25 km from the picturesque fortified town of Langres in Haute Marne. It is surrounded by meadows, fields and forests, there are lovely walks from the house!
There are two swimming lakes nearby, Lac de Vingeanne at 13 km, with a beach with shady trees and the possibility of fishing. And Lac de la Liez near Langres. Near Langres is a large climbing forest for big and small daredevils.
Since November 2019, France's 11th national park has opened just a stone's throw away! Parc de fôrets de Champagne et Bourgogne with 2000 km of hiking trails, 700 km of rivers and canals for water sports and fishing and much more!
Burgundy, Dijon, the famous Route de Grand Cru, Beaune, Besançon, Chaumont, Vesoul.... many opportunities for day and city trips.

Een met zorg en smaak ingericht sfeervol oud (19e eeuw) huis. Schoon en ruimschoots voorzien van keukengerei en servies. Rustige plek die een leuke uitvalsbasis is voor wandelingen of een bezoek aan Dijon of andere plaatsen in de omgeving.

Maison La Resaigne is een heerlijk huis! Gabi heeft het huis heel prettig en sfeervol ingericht (en is daarvoor waarschijnlijk een hoop marktjes af geweest). Bij aankomt zijn de bedden opgemaakt en liggen de handdoeken voor je klaar. Dit voelt heel gastvrij en scheelt bagage. Ook de nodige keukendoeken zijn aanwezig. Het huis is overcompleet qua keukengerei; zo goed als alles is aanwezig. Het fornuis met oven zijn prettig in gebruik. De zojuist geïnstalleerde vaatwasser de kers op de taart. Een wasje draaien kan ook en de warme wind plaatst het zo droog. Door overdag de luiken dicht te houden blijft het huis heerlijk koel, toen wij er waren was het buiten tussen de 30 en 35 graden. Er zijn genoeg spelletjes en boeken aanwezig; de tv wordt niet gemist.
Naast het huis ligt een riante tuin met altijd wel een schaduwplekje. Het dorpje Maâtz is super rustig, voor het meeste vertier moet je een beetje reizen maar over de glooiende wegen in de omgeving is dit geen probleem. Kortom: Wij hebben het heerlijk gehad!
Restaurants, food & wine
Nearby Burgundy is known for its beautiful wines and tasting directly from the winemaker is even very simple: if a house or farm has a wine barrel next to the gate with empty bottles on it, you are welcome for dégustation.
As little as 20 euros gets you a delicious three-course meal in this region. Jambon persillé, bœuf Bougignon, and the tasty Langres cheese are regional classics. The Route de Grand Cru leads through beautiful vineyards and picturesque Burgundy villages where you can taste the finest wines at many a famous or small-scale Chateau.
Activities
From the house, beautiful walks can be made through fields, meadows and forests. There are also beautiful walking and cycling routes in the area, for example along the Canal de Champagne-Ardenne or the green cycling route to Langres. Behind Langres is the Parque National de Fôrets with many walking routes.
There are two swimming lakes nearby, one just a short 15-minute drive away for a cooling dip! You can also rent boats and Sup boards there.
In summer, many nearby villages have cosy flea markets, vide greniers, nice strolls in the cosy villages and lunch with the chips and Merguez sandwiches that are invariably served.
There are games in the house for young and old: bocce ball, shuffleboard, Lego, board games, etc.
Plenty of entertainment for indoors and outdoors!

Upon arrival, beds will be made, and the welcome drink will be cold.
Check-in is from 5pm, unfortunately this cannot be brought forward.

Each room has mosquito nets that you can place in the window and there is a fly curtain at the entrance.
Because you are in the countryside, there are still sometimes insects that do not want to stop at the front door.
This is not a sleek modern holiday villa but a country house typical of this region, furnished with the charm of these houses. There is no TV, but fibre-optic internet with 500 mbit per second upload and download speed. Great speed for watching TV, Netflix etc on a brought laptop/tablet.

Pets by arrangement, additional cost 35 euros per stay.
For use of the third bedroom (spacious single bed 1.35 wide), the cost per stay is €35 for extra cleaning and linen/towels.
