The house
This four-person, detached cottage is located 40 km from the Belgian border in the hamlet of Les Duizettes near the village of Rocquigny in the French Ardennes (08). Besides a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, two bedrooms and a living room, this accommodation offers a beautiful wide view of the rolling valley and forest of Rocquigny and the meadows with "organic cows" of our neighbours. With its many doors and windows, it enjoys optimal natural light from sunrise to sunset. As you are the only guests on the property, and have your own private grounds at your disposal, you are guaranteed privacy, inspiring peace and quiet and space. There are also many activities to do off site such as hiking, cycling, visiting villages or towns, or tasting champagne in one of the many champagne caves in Reims. So come and enjoy, recharge and relax in this authentic agricultural hamlet and feel completely French for a while.

The property is surrounded by meadows on the north, east and west sides. From your cottage or your private property, you can see at the front (East) the beautiful rolling landscape with the Rocquigny forest and the pastures of the organic cattle farmers from Les Duizettes. Regularly, their white Charlorais cows stare at you in a friendly manner. With a bit of luck, roe deer can be spotted at the edge of the woods, and with a bit more luck a fox. Behind the laurel hedge, next to our property, is the house of our retired neighbour and his wife. You will occasionally see him passing by on the road or through the meadow on his way to his cows or one of his many fruit trees. On the north side is our house and private garden. In your private area are two comfortable deck chairs and hanging from the branches of the proud weeping willow are a hanging chair and a hammock for relaxed gazing into the distance. The further surroundings are ideal for a lovely walk or beautiful bike ride.

Wij hebben een week in het huisje van Arjen en Remko gelogeerd samen met onze hond Tara. Wij voelden ons direct thuis in het smaakvol en comfortabel ingericht huis. Tara kon veilig rondlopen in de grote omheinde tuin. Wij hadden volop privacy en de eigenaren waren behulpzaam waar dat nodig was. Het is er heel stil met nauwelijks verkeer of ander geluid. Echt een plek voor rustzoekers met of zonder hond.
