Holiday home La Ferme - Domaine Les Drageonnières near Montrichard
What a fantastic place! Formidable! Located at the end of a quiet dead-end country tarmac road. At "Domaine les Drageonnières" you will find yourself in an oasis of peace. Early in the morning, many a deer may look at you in surprise when you open the shutters. On your left are the woods and on your right the vineyards with a magnificent view over the Cher Valley.
Through an entrance gate you enter the Domaine Les Drageonnières (4.5 ha.) with two comfortable holiday homes (La Ferme and La Bergerie), a barn, two large lawns with swings, a Jeu-de-boules court (Boules are present), several fruit trees and a beautifully situated, shared swimming pool (salt water, 12 x 5 m, depth 1.00 - 2.40 m) with sun beds. The pool is open from mid-May to mid-October. This little paradise is very suitable for e.g. two families going on holiday together, but you can of course also rent one of the two houses. Should you be able to detach yourself from your property, you will see that the surrounding area is also definitely worth a visit.
Montrichard (2 km) lies on the river Cher and has a cosy medieval town centre where you can find restaurants, the tourist office, shops, a tennis court, bicycle rental, beautiful half-timbered houses and one of the oldest castles in France. From this Donjon you can enjoy a panoramic view over the town and the valley. If you follow the river towards Tours (35 km), you will notice the rolling landscape. Some famous Loire castles a short distance away are Chenonceaux (10 km), Amboise (18 km), Cheverny (30 km) and beyond Tours the imposing Azay-le-Rideau (65 km).
In Montrichard and Bourré (4 km) you can visit wine cellars in the underground corridors dug out from Roman times for the tuff chalk, also called pierre de bourré. Nowadays, these corridors are also used for mushroom cultivation and you can just pop into some of the businesses. For a change from a wine cellar, you can even visit houses in some of the corridors! For a nice day out with the children, there is the beautiful and famous zoo (Zoo Beauval) in St. Aignan (17 km) and for a nice walk you can walk into the woods behind your house (100 m). 9-Hole golf course La Carte near Chaumont (15 min.). 18-hole golf course near Cheverny (30 km).
