Surroundings
L'Epilly is located in the heart of the Sologne, one of the largest forest areas in France. A beautiful area next to the Loire. 500,000 hectares of forest and lake offer more than enough possibilities for walking, cycling, horse riding, canoeing, etc. The attraction of this area was already known in the time of the French Kings, who built their castles here. Here, you will find large castles such as Chenonceau, Blois, Chambord and Cheverny.

Restaurants, food & wine
France is of course the country of good food and good wine. It is therefore not difficult to find a nice restaurant in the area. The neighbouring village of Lamotte-Beuvron is known for its Tarte Tatin, the upside-down apple pie, the recipe for which originated here. And as a wine region, the Loire is of course also known and loved. Taste it for yourself at one of the wineries.
Activities
The Chateau de l'Epilly estate is set amidst one of France's largest forest areas. This makes it a wonderfully peaceful place to discover the beautiful Loire region from. Through 500,000 hectares of forest and lakes, it is great for walking and cycling. The Loire region is of course also known for its many castles, such as Chambord, Cheverny and Chenonceau, but also the lesser-known castles are definitely worth a visit. The cosy towns of Blois, Bourges and Orléans are also well worth a day trip. As is the zoo, known as one of the most beautiful in Europe.
