The house
Our colourful gîte Orange consists of a living area downstairs and the bedroom and bathroom on the first floor. The gîte has a large living area with two armchairs next to the wood-burning stove, dining table with four chairs and an open, fully equipped kitchen with espresso machine, fridge-freezer, oven and microwave. A 'lazy' staircase leads to the bedroom, with twin beds that can be pushed together. The bathroom has a large sink, walk-in shower (with rain shower) and hanging hooks. The toilet is in a separate room. At the back of the cottage is a private veranda with some lazy chairs and a large dining table, so should there be a refreshing summer shower, you can still enjoy being outside. Throughout the garden you'll find some seating areas, How about a sporty game of petanque? We have laid out a beautiful court. In the evening, you can daydream by the fireplace and gaze up at the stars. On a bench at the edge of our meadow, you can enjoy the beautiful view with your cup of coffee or glass of wine.

Surroundings
Domaine Pouzoult falls under the municipality of Sazeray, lying in Centre-Val de Loire, department Indre twenty minutes away from the historic town of La Châtre, We are right in between two small villages: Sazeray and St. Sévère sur Indre. The latter village has a small supermarket, a bakery, butcher, pharmacy and a nice restaurant.
The region, the Berry, is hilly and surrounded by small country roads and has a so-called scenic landscape: forests and farmland alternate. Perfect surroundings for a nice walk or a nice bike ride. The chances of running into anyone are slim. Visit the small villages that still exude a typical French atmosphere, such as the Frenchman with baguette wedged under his arm or the local boules court. Every village has a market, often taking place under the old covered market hall. A little church, fortress, castle? That too can be found here.

Reviews
Paul en Angeline Franssen from Utrecht,
Arjan from Kwintsheul,
Merci bien!Nynke from Amsterdam,
Restaurants, food & wine
Don't feel like cooking? For a small fee, you can join us for a 'Table d'hôtes'; we serve a two-course menu. Or pamper yourself completely and order a continental breakfast. We serve the latter at your gîte.
If you're interested in wine, it's also fun to take a half-day wine tour around Chateaumeillant in the company of an English guide. Of course, there is the opportunity for a mini tasting. It is also possible to visit a vineyard and cheese farm, this excursion takes a whole day.
Activities
Especially in the summer months, you can visit several brocantes and/or vide greniers, held in all kinds of villages. Slowly stroll along the stalls or sit on a terrace somewhere and enjoy the surroundings. If you are looking for inspiration for your garden, visit the monastery gardens of Prieuré d'Orsan, where you can stroll around wonderfully; also have a cup of coffee or tea in the gazebo. Other gardens are also well worth a visit. Culturally, there is also plenty to see, such as the Maison de George Sand in Nohan-Vic, several museums, as well as old historic towns like La Châtre and castles and fortresses (Sarzay). In the summer months, especially in Nohan, there are many beautiful concerts to visit.
If you want to be active, you can walk or cycle to your heart's content. Route maps are available from us but also via Office du Tourisme in La Châtre. Horse riding or golf are also possibilities. In Pouligny Notre Dame there is an 18-hole golf course with enough challenges for an experienced and inexperienced golfer. Do you like fishing? There are plenty of fish ponds in the area. Rather be active in the water? Nearby, but also further away, there are plenty of recreational lakes with all kinds of activities.

Further remarks
The Le Berry region is still relatively unknown to tourists, so you can count on peace and quiet. It is even said that this region has the healthiest air! The varied landscape makes it great for walking or cycling. Bear in mind that the landscape is hilly and there are few benches on your route. We have some nice walking and cycling routes for you that start from the gîte,
Both gîtes are at right angles to each other, so you won't be bothered by the other tenants. We ourselves also live on the property (out of sight), so you can always knock on our door for a question, a chat or otherwise.
