Reviews
Marlies Blankendaal from Tuitjenhorn,
Voor de 2 de keer geweest
Alles is echt aanwezig in de gite
Prachtig zwembad
En marleen heel erg gastvrij
Heerlijk rustig maar toch alles dichtbij in la chatreLisette & Kees from Utrecht,
Weer een geweldige vakantie gehad in Gîte La Buse. Heerlijk rustig, mooie tuin, goed uitgeruste gîte, geweldige gastvrouw. De nieuwe veranda is heerlijk, veel opties om in en uit de zon te zitten, zitjes met mooi uitzicht. Afkoelen in het zwembad. Kortom, voor herhaling vatbaar (volgend jaar weer 😊).
J. Schook from Alblasserdam,
Restaurants, food & wine
Of course, food is very important in France and during the week you can have a 4-course lunch for an average approx.15 euros including wine at many places in the surrounding area. La Châtre is also home to Italian and Chinese cuisine so there is something for everyone.
Activities
From the cottage you walk straight into the silence with beautiful views over the rolling countryside, it is a walking and cycling area par excellence. There are many walks in the immediate vicinity from 4 km to 25 km. Nature is still unspoilt here, you can regularly see a roe deer jumping away, spotting wild boar and foxes. Also for the birdwatchers among you; here you can spot the black kite, the chiffon vulture, the hoopoe, the golden oriole and more special birds. Music lovers will also enjoy La Grange aux pianos in Chassignolles, which hosts classical concerts by renowned musicians during the summer months. In nearby Crozon sur Vauvre, you can rent an electric bike at a reasonable price.
Pouligny Notre Dame is home to Les Dryades with an 18-hole golf course and a spa, as well as téle-skiing. La Châtre is a beautiful town with a Saturday market and of course pleasant terraces. There is also an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, as well as beautiful lakes for swimming. One hour away you will find the impressive nature reserve De Brenne (16,000 ha); the country of the thousand fens. But there are more lakes with small beaches, such as at Le Val de Creuse (Eguson) with some of the most beautiful villages in France, including the artists' village of Gargilesse. Be sure to visit the town of Argenton-sur-Creuse, the Venice of Berry and the many brocantes and vide-greniers in the area. Near the picturesque village of Crozant, you can discover the wild nature of the Creuse from the water by canoe or kayak. You can choose a trip on the reservoir or on the river. You will enjoy rock formations, babbling brooks and overwhelming nature. But also the castle ruins of Crozant and other special views. 1 hour away is the Tree Climbing Parcours Toulx-Sainte-Croix, this climbing course is a collection of platforms in trees interconnected by ropes, rope ladders, bridges and zip lines. The park consists of 4 different courses of varying levels. There is a special course for children, where parents can keep an eye on them, as well as a black course for advanced climbers. This makes the park suitable for anyone looking for a sporty or adventurous day. Visitors are always secured, receive comprehensive safety instruction . There is also an opportunity to water-ski on Eguzon Lake (Club Nautique Eguzon). Cluis is a rural and authentic municipality awash with lush greenery, making it the ideal backdrop for thrill seekers bungee jumping from the 50-metre viaduct. The Viaduc de l'Auzon offers a stunning panorama of the town and surrounding areas. This former 499-metre-long railway is an emblematic symbol of the region. Half an hour away is the equestrian centre Calypso in La Berthenoux.
All these activities can thus be reached within an acceptable distance.
