The house

  • Quiet, rural area with some agricultural activity

The gite, is a self contained part of our main barn which has been sympathetically renovated using the original beams and stone work and is known by the locals as The West Wing. It’s ideal for couples looking for tranquil surroundings set in the heart of the countryside in the Southern Loire Valley.

The gite has a spacious lounge with french doors to the gardens and stunning views over open countryside and leads to the dining area, also having french doors opening to the gardens. The bedroom, has a dressing area with wardrobe and drawers and en suite shower room with hand basin and toilet.

The kitchen is equipped with a four ring gas hob, combination oven, grill and microwave, fridge with freezer compartment and all other accessories.

There is a TV with USB port (for media stick) with an English satellite box, sound bar with blue tooth connection for music devices.

A washing machine is usable in our house (a small charge per load to cover laundry products etc).

There is a multi-gym, exercise bike, sit-up machine and weights for the more energetic person.

No smoking in the accommodation but no problem outside.

We stayed in this beautiful gîte this spring in May.
The reception was great, Bill and Penn are lovely people. The gîte is clean, very complete and fully equipped. Bed is fine.
Because the weather this spring was not yet optimal, it was nice that we had the luxury of a TV.
    Beautiful, well-maintained garden, beautiful views.
Because the gîte is somewhat remote, it is wonderfully quiet, you don't hear any traffic or partying neighbors at night and we love the peace and quiet.
Nevertheless, the gîte is a good starting point to visit all kinds of beautiful places in the region. We had a great time,
Thank you Bill and Penn for your hospitality and give your dogs a hug from us.

The welcome was very warm, ther were eggs, bread, tomatoes, wine when we arrived for our first needs.Thank you for that gesture. It was a very nice stay in the little gite. Everything you need was available.Ther is one thing we missed: an extractor hood. The smells of the cooking/baking stays longer in the gite. But that’s a very small commentary. The garden was wonderful. The dog Mitch was very friendly and we had every visit from the chicken.Bill and Penn: you are lovely people.
The area around the gite was very nice to walk. All with all, we had a very good time there at le Breuil Malot. Richard and Carina. Vlissingen

    Dear Pen, Bill,
The lovely gîte and you both, make us feel at ,,home’’ The 3 weeks we have been your guest, were fantastic. Mitch and the chickens were dayly guest at our gîte, ones a treat and they know where to go.
The silence in this agricultural environment, away from urban hectic. Many little mountainius roads , for us with an e-bike okay to do. Highly recommended for people where silence comes first on there list.
Pen, Bill thank you again .
