The house
The gîte is fully equipped for 2 people. The living room has a 2-seater sofa and armchair and a side table, and for the cooler days a pellet stove. The kitchen is equipped with an oven, four-burner cooker, fridge, coffee maker, kettle, pots and pans, crockery and a wide range of kitchen utensils. Kitchen and bathroom linen are also provided.
On the mezzanine floor is the bedroom with 1 double bed of 1.60m x 2.00m. And enough space for your luggage. Your bed is made on arrival.
From your terrace you have a beautiful view over the countryside. The terrace has a wooden bench, a table with chairs and a parasol.
There is wifi. You share the swimming pool with the owners and any other guests. Besides the gîte, we have another mobile home and 3 camping pitches.

Rural, very authentic and gently sloping, with distinctive hedges around the meadows and fields. Cycling is quite possible, although an electric bike is recommended. No electric bicycle or not along? We rent out electric bikes.

Restaurants, food & wine
For wine lovers the famous vineyards of Sancerre and Pouilly-Fume are just over an hour and a half away, closer are those of Reuilly, but really close by are the vineyards of Châteaumeillant, unknown in the Netherlands because of its small scale but, well worth a visit to one of the 23 winemakers. Ask about it I can tell you a lot about it.
Activities
The rolling countryside is perfect for hiking and cycling, but by car and motorbike you can make beautiful trips through the meadows from village to village. There are two beautiful golf courses nearby (Pouligny-notre-Dame and Villedieu-sur-Indre).
The Brenne nature reserve offers 16,000ha of natural beauty with a huge diversity of flora and fauna.
The famous writer George Sand lived for a long time in the village of Nohant where she wrote many of her works, her parental home can be visited and there is also a good restaurant here, in La Châtre there is a museum dedicated to her.
The famous Loire castles, are a bit further away, but in the area are many castles, abbeys and Romanesque churches, the gardens of Prieuré d'Orsan are 10min from Maison Montgenoux.
At Lac Sidialles there are hiking trails and canoes and pedalos can be hired. And there are zip lines across the lake.
Bourges has one of the largest cathedrals in France, worth a visit in combination with the old town of Bourges.
