The house
Situated in the tiny hamlet of Kerjeffredic, L’écurie is a gite sleeping 6 guests. Guests have exclusive use of the vast, beautifully maintained grounds and a heated swimming pool which is available in summer. Kerjeffredic is in the heart of rural Brittany and near to the medieval chateau town Josselin.
Inside L’écurie on the ground floor is an open plan living area. This consists of a fully fitted kitchen with large oven, dishwasher, washing machine, plus a lounge/dining area with plenty of seating for both dining and relaxing.
Upstairs there is a bathroom with shower and toilet and also a separate toilet.
There are two double bedrooms, and one twin bedroom.
The main patio doors lead into the gravelled courtyard and garden and the side patio doors open onto the terrace with the pool and barbecue area. The heated pool, with surrounding fence, is available from June to September. Pool dimensions: 6m x 3.5m and depth 1m.
There is an outdoor table and plenty of sun loungers.
The large outside space with several wooded areas is perfect for youngsters to run, play and explore.
Bed linen and towels are provided. Please bring your own pool towels.
There are stairs up to the first floor and the courtyard at the front of the house is deeply gravelled. This makes it unsuitable for guests who are wheelchair users or have impaired mobility.
Pets are allowed, maximum 2 dogs. Please note the garden is not secure and your dog should be supervised at all times. A fee is charged, 30€ per dog, and guests must adhere to the regulations as follows:
- Dogs are not allowed on the furniture or upstairs
- Dogs should not be left alone in the gite
- Any dog mess is the responsibility of the guest to clean up.

BRITTANY REGION
Brittany offers a wealth of varied landscapes - beautiful sandy beaches, deep forests and medieval towns, easily accessible from Ménéac's central situation.
From spectacular beaches with rugged coastlines to vast sandy expanses, to peaceful woods and forests and the famous Nantes-Brest Canal, Brittany has all the makings of a perfect holiday.
During the summer numerous villages and town celebrate the "Pardon" which is predominantly a religious thanksgiving but is always followed by a celebratory meal (with a drink or two!) and Breton dancing.
The Local area
A short drive from Kerjeffredic is Josselin, a French 'petite cite de caractere' situated on the banks of the Nantes-Brest canal. It has a stunning chateau and is also home to the Puppet Museum. There are numerous restaurants. This bustling town has all you need for shopping and a very popular Saturday market. There are boulangeries, banks and pharmacies as well as two large supermarkets just on the outskirts of the town.
Malestroit is another charming Breton town on the banks of the Nantes-Brest canal. About 15 min drive away. Another popular market town in the area, this time held on Thursdays.
Close to Malestroit is St Marcel where you can visit the Musée de la Resistance. A fascinating insight into WW2 history and the involvement of the French in helping their allies.
Rochefort en Terre - a must on your list of pretty towns to visit. Numerous eating places and shops abound in this Breton town.
Approximately 1 hours drive away the south coast has many lovely beaches, including Damgan, Carnac and La Trinite sur Mer. These all have numerous restaurants .
Vannes
Within easy reach of Kerjeffredic is the walled medieval city of Vannes. Well worth a visit to see the many historic buildings or just a bit of retail therapy in the elegant shops!

ME Jellema from Zuid-Scharwoude,
De twee huizen zijn geweldig om, zoals wij, als grootouders en een gezin met 4 kinderen te huren. Veel ruimte in het grote huis en in de omringende tuin en binnenplaats.
Hele aardige eigenaars die zoals ze zelf aangaven, “onzichtbaar” waren, maar die goed benaderbaar zijn.
Er zijn wel wat minpunten die we direct bij de eigenaars hebben aangegeven, maar waar ze een beetje schouderhalend op reageerden, en werden er geen oplossingen aangebracht.
Zo heeft het internet in het kleine huis vrijwel geen bereik en in het grote huis is het matig/slecht.
In het kleine huis (dat volgens hoge standaard zou zijn gerenoveerd) doet de televisie het niet en toen we na aankomst wilden koken, vonden we onder het deksel van het fornuis een papier waarop stond “out of order”. Het waren koude avonden (juni!), en de houtkachel kon niet worden gebruikt. We waren blij met ons meegebrachte kacheltje.
Wij (de grootouders) hebben dus de hele week gekookt en gegeten, de krant gedownload en soms tv gekeken in het grote huis.
Als je dit allemaal van te voren weet is het wel handig….
Een paar keer konden de kinderen zwemmen in het zwembadje.
Om voor kinderen alles nog iets aantrekkelijker te maken zou de houten bekisting van het zwembad wel wat renovatie kunnen gebruiken (splinters en op sommige plekken wankelig) èn zou een schommel of wat andere speeldingen op het immense grasveld erg fijn zijn.

Het spijt ons voor de problemen die u hebt ondervonden. Alle problemen die u noemt, worden nu aangepakt door de eigenaar.
Restaurants, food & wine
The cuisine in the area includes crepes and galettes and of course the seafood! Mussels and oysters are available throughout the region, particularly in the summer months. Cider is produced here and local varieties are available in all supermarkets and restaurants.
Activities
A great area for cycling and walking. Nearby s the Nantes-Brest canal and plenty of places to hire bikes!
