Walnut Tree Gîte is a charming stone 4 bedroomed cottage built in 1900 and refurbished in 2019 to provide a holiday home retaining the original charm and character yet providing the modern comforts expected, set in peaceful gardens with it's own heated swimming pool. Located in the peaceful village of Kersulan, the ideal location to sit back and relax.
Walnut Tree Gîte offers a separate kitchen and dining room and upon arrival we provide you with a Welcome Pack
The kitchen has a focal point island for family and friends to gather around whilst preparing meals. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, and the essential dishwasher, attention to detail has been given to ensuring that the kitchen utensils are good quality and plentiful. Another feature of the kitchen is the lovely wood burner. In the kitchen you will also find tea, coffee, sugar, oils, spices, herbs, cleaning materials, tea towels, oven cloths.
The spacious dining room looks onto the front garden and down to the village, providing a beautiful setting to enjoy your meals, a large farm house table and chairs sits 6 comfortably.
The living room has a tranquil feel with windows and doors leading out to the front garden. It features a woodburner, three seater and two seater sofa's with two contrasting armchairs all located around the large coffee table in front of the wood burner.
There is UK satellite tv, french tv, dvd player, wireless speakers, books and films.
Stairs from the living room lead to the mezzanine bedroom with feature king size iron bed.
The main stairs lead from the kitchen to the spacious main bedroom with en-suite, two single bedrooms and a family bathroom.
In the main bedroom you will find a comfortable king size bed, with an en-suite which comprises of a bath with over head shower, vanity unit and wc.
All the bed linen and towels are luxury hotel quality giving you that relaxing nights sleep. We also include pool towels.
A corridor from the kitchen leads to the back door with access to the garden, a separate w.c and laundry room with washing machine.
Outside you will find the private garden with heated swimming pool. The swimming pool was totally renovated on 2021 (3.5m x 6m and is 1.5m deep) , you will find the crystal waters to be a glorious 26 degrees, and for those families with children, the peace of mind that the pool is fully enclosed. The peaceful landscaped gardens look out onto open countryside, you will find a delightful al fresco dining area with gas bbq which overlooks the pool or you can sit and read a book in the landscaped garden ruin. The garden really does offer the perfect surroundings to just sit back, relax and enjoy life.
There is room for two cars at the front of the property.
We expect the Gite to be left clean and tidy on departure, we do offer a Pack and Go service for 50€ (payable on arrival)
We are pet friendly, and welcome dogs at a charge of 40€ per week. (payable on arrival)

The Morbihan region is a very varied department of France, offering prehistoric monuments, historical towns, beautiful estuaries and the River Blavet. It boasts beautiful sandy beaches and islands along the coast and around the Gulf of Morbihan, and as Brittany's most southern department offers the best summer holiday weather and sea temperatures.
Walnut Tree Gîte is situated in the sleepy village of Kersulan, surrounded by rolling woodlands, which offers so many walks and hikes (many maps are available for you to use), seeing nature at its very best, look out for the wild deer on the roads leading to the village.
We are located in an ideal central spot for sight seeing whether that is enjoying the river, lakes, historical towns or visiting the nearest beach, just 40 minutes away, or maybe take a day trip to one of the many Morbihan islands.
The nearest large town is Pontivy, just 10 minutes away offering a good choice of supermarkets and a local market on a monday. The nearest Boulangerie is 5 minutes in the car.

Wat een ongelooflijk warm welkom kregen we van Tina en Graeme, van de “Walnut tree”! ❤️ De gîte is gezellig en van alle gemakken voorzien. De tuin is ruim en mooi aangelegd, met een heerlijk privézwembad. Er is altijd wel een plekje in de zon te vinden, waar je kan genieten van een goed glas wijn. Dat flesje wijn, staat als welkomstcadeautje al op je te wachten bij aankomst, ook kaas, brood, een homemade cake, verse bloemen uit de tuin etc… wat een verwennerij!
De omgeving is prachtig. Er zijn vele mooie plaatsen te bezoeken en kastelen te bekijken. Soms is het een uurtje rijden, maar dit is het zeker waard. Een boottocht, of even heerlijk op een strandje genieten van de oceaan.
Vele gasten hebben de “Walnut tree” met een 10 beoordeeld. Dit is zeker waar, mede door de ontzettend lieve eigenaars. 🥰Hans en Annemiek

We genoten van een fijn verblijf in deze mooie gite. We werden warm onthaald door Tina en Graeme, met een lekker huisgemaakt welkomstpakket. Het huis is, net zoals de tuin en het zwembad, kraaknet en goed onderhouden. De tuin heeft leuke hoekjes om even weg te zakken met een boek. Op regenachtige dagen konden we genieten van darts en tafeltennis onder het afdak. We maakten vaak gebruik van de infomap die naast info over uitstapjes ook aan te raden restaurants, stranden, winkels, ... bevat. Maar we konden ook altijd bij Tina en Graeme terecht bij vragen, even kloppen op de deur of een berichtje sturen. Voor een uitstapje dien je wel even te rijden maar in zo een mooie omgeving is dit helemaal niet erg. We verbleven hier 2 weken, na de eerste week werd het gras opnieuw afgereden, alle lakens ververst, kregen we nieuwe handdoeken en opnieuw huisgemaakt lekkers van Tina (scones met clotted cream, zo lekker).

We have just enjoyed a second visit to Walnut Tree Gite, the first being two years ago. Our stay was every bit as good as the first at this beautiful and peaceful gite. The gite is beautifully furnished, and full of character, with excellent quality bed linen, and very well equipped. Tina and Graeme are so good at the providing the extra touches, such as fresh eggs from their chickens, homemade chutney, cake and preserves, as well as wine, and other essentials.
The garden is a delight, with it's gorgeous plants, and there are several areas to sit in the shade or sun. The pool is wonderful, it is heated, and totally private and secluded.
Tina and Graeme are the perfect hosts, as they either leave you to be, or are available to have a chat or help with anything.
Our dog has been twice now, and she was so excited to be back. She is safe and secure in the garden, and enjoyed the treats and welcome pack that was provided for her.

You will find an array of restaurants and Creperies on offer in the surrounding area, all offering wonderful menus supporting local Brittany produce.
There are many restaurants in the nearby towns of Pontivy, Baud, Hennebont offering a variety of different eateries for different tastes and budgets.
We do provide recommendations from ourselves and previous guests in the gîte information guide and we are always happy to help with reservations if required.
Activities
Walnut Tree Gîte is ideally situated to visit the many attractions and activities that Brittany and Morbihan has to offer.
Just 5 minutes from the river Blavet with the many activities of kayaking/canoeing, bike hire, boat excursions. A golf course located 4km away, horse riding 1 km away and being surrounded by rural countryside so many treks and hikes. Lakes nearby with activities for all the family.
So many historical towns nearby with Pontivy just 10 minutes away and nearest beaches 40 minutes
