The house
The French doors to the large terrace give great views over our valley and on Mount Puy-de-Dome. In clear weather, you can see at least 100 km away. The large terrace with lounge set and loungers faces south, which means many hours of sunshine so you can enjoy the morning sun but also late in the afternoon with a nice snack and a drink.
A la Loub has a spacious living room with sitting and dining area. In the sitting area there is a sofa bed for 2 persons. An open kitchen with large fridge-freezer and 4-burner gas hob. All necessary kitchenware is available. The bedroom is equipped with box-spring hotel beds. The modern bathroom has a walk-in shower, toilet and washbasin. The gite is ground floor and barrier-free.

We are located in the Auvergne province, the Puy-de Dome department. At 800 km from Eindhoven, 350 km below Paris and 55 km above Clermont-Ferrand. Easy to reach from Eindhoven in 8 travel hours via motorway. Also ideal as a stopover for a journey further south.
At 3 km you will find a bakery where you can get fresh bread daily. There is also a small supermarket. For larger supermarkets and other daily shopping you can go to the nearest town, which is 7 km from our gite.
At 3 and 5 km you will find two swimming lakes with a beach and playground for the children. If you want to swim or canoe on a river, you can do so on the Sioule. This is within 10 minutes reach from our gite.

Restaurants, food & wine
In the immediate vicinity, you can enjoy local dishes in one of the various restaurants. In Saint-Pourcain-sur-Sioul, you will find several vineyards with a total area of 640 hectares. You can taste and buy wine from the local wine growers. Definitely worth a visit if you are a wine lover.
In the town of Saint-Eloy-Les Mines (at 7km), the annual wine festival takes place. Winegrowers from all over France gather there to present their wines.
Activities
Our cottage is located in a rural setting on the edge of the Massif Central.
You can enjoy the beautiful nature, swim in the river Sioule or one of the many lakes in the neighbourhood. Discover the wooded and hilly surroundings. The ideal environment if you enjoy nature and tranquillity. Do you like long or short walks, bicycle/mountain bike trips, beautiful trips with the motorbike on paved or unpaved terrain or fishing on still or flowing water? It is all possible and within short distance. You can also visit many French markets and flea markets in the neighbourhood.
The Auvergne is known for its many cheeses, the old volcanic mountains of which the Puy de Dome is the most famous, the many lakes and rivers. Of course, there are also many cities to discover. Vichy is one of the Auvergne's thermal cities, Clermont-Ferrand as the capital, home of Michelin tyres and with its famous cathedral, Montluçon with a weekly market in the medieval centre. The medieval village of Charroux is also a must, one of the 156 labelled 'most beautiful villages in France'.

The gite is located in a small holiday park with a total of 7 connected cottages of which 4 with one bedroom (2-4 persons) and 3 with two bedrooms (2-6 persons).

An extra bed in the bedroom is possible.
Rent is also possible per night or a few nights for example when you are passing through.

Voor het derde jaar vakantie gevierd bij Kim, Leo en Mick.
Geweldig gastvrije mensen die je gewoon rustig je vakantie laten vieren maar behulpzaam zijn als je
hen nodig hebt voor wat dan ook.
De Gites van La Loubière, mooi rustig gelegen zijn comfortabel en van veel gemakken voorzien.
Gites zijn leuk ingericht en in de slaapkamer lekker grote bedden (geen kleine Franse ledikantjes)
wat voor mij wel handig is i.v.m. mijn lengte van 196cm. Douche/wc in ruime badkamer
Terras waar je bij mooi weer kunt zonnen van ’s morgens tot ’s avonds en afkoelen doe je in het
zwembad
Voor rust, wandelen, zwemmen, cultuur snuiven of bezoekjes aan een weekmarkt of brocante zit je
hier wel goed, er is genoeg te beleven in deze mooie omgeving.

Met onze twee dochtertjes zijn we twee weken bij Kim en Leo geweest. Het is een heerlijk relaxte omgeving, met veel leuke stadjes en mooie natuur in de buurt. Het huisje was heel schoon en lekker ruim. Elk huisje had een lounge set bij het huisje en ook een picknick tafel op het grasveld, wat erg fijn was. Er was ook genoeg te spelen voor de kinderen die 's ochtends al meteen naar de trampoline wilden terwijl we rustig konden ontbijten aan de picknicktafel. Kim en Leo zijn heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam en onze oudste dochter heeft veel met Mick gespeeld. Kortom, het was een heerlijke vakantie!
