The house
This luxury detached nature house is from 1870 and is well hidden on a private estate, less than 870 kilometres from Utrecht. The house is in a wooded area on a hill at the start of the Massif Central of the Puy de Dôme. There are several farm animals on the property, including chickens, peacocks, rabbits and sheep and on the playing field there is a trampoline with swings and an inflatable Jacuzzi, in the surrounding woods you can go for lovely walks. Besides a lounge and kitchen, there are three spacious bedrooms. WiFi + smart TV with Netflix is available in the house. Outside are a picnic table and barbecue. A high chair and cot are available. Five minutes away at the village of Lapeyrouse is a beautiful swimming lake with sandy beaches and shops and amenities are also within seven minutes (Carrefour & Lidl). The nature cottage is completely detached. Enjoy the peace and nature here.
This nature cottage is located in a green natural paradise in central France. When you are driving around, you keep coming across a big mountain, it is the volcano the Puy de Dôme, one of the youngest volcanoes of the Massif Central. This volcano is 1465 metres high and you can climb it via a hiking trail. You can also take the new tramway to the top. There is an information centre on the Puy de Dôme and, on a clear day, you have a fantastic view of the volcanoes of the Massif Central. The Puy de Dôme is 11 kilometres from the city of Clermont Ferrand. Auvergne is a paradise for nature lovers, cyclists and hikers, golfers, fishermen and culture enthusiasts. During the summer months, festivals and flea markets can be found everywhere on weekends and you can visit the wellness in several spas. Within 20 minutes you can also reach the Gorges de la Sioule, a beautiful gorge with rocks, and on the river you can take an exciting canoe trip on a beautiful, summer day.

The forest house is well hidden in the greenery on a 17-hectare estate on Château la Perche, between the villages of Lapeyrouse and Montaigut and Combrailles. A very quiet region with very hot summers and many rivers and lakes nearby. The estate is located at the beginning of the Massif Central and falls under the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region.

Restaurants, food & wine
Every day you can go to a local market somewhere to get local produce. In the summer months, you can eat outside and there is a BBQ. In the immediate vicinity there are many nice restaurants, we have compiled a list for you with all the addresses of where you can eat best, the French eat a daily menu at noon between 12 and 2 pm. In the evening, you can go to the village of Néris les Bains (15 min) where you can enjoy the local dish 'Truffade' at the Brasserie. The wine region near Saint Pourçain sur Sioule can be reached within 45 min, which is the oldest wine region in France. On Saturday mornings you have a nice market in St Pourcain and we have tips for driving to vineyards via a scenic route.
Activities
Within a radius of 30 km you can enjoy hiking, cycling, swimming, canoeing in the Gorges de la Sioule, climbing in tree-climbing park at Echassieres, rent the vélorail in Lapeyrouse for a bike ride on the railway to Saint Eloy les Mines. Visit the quarry in the forests of La Bosse, there are 2 beautiful swimming lakes within a 10 km radius with sandy beaches, the cities of Vichy, Montluçon and Clermont Ferrand are worth a visit, as is the Puy de Dôme, the largest volcano in the Massif Central, visit Le Pal amusement park near Moulins including a beautiful zoo, Vulcania theme park, Dinopark Paleopolis in Gannat, Spa & Wellness in Neris les Bains and Saint Therence golf course near Montluçon. We have all the information available for you and there is always someone nearby who can give tips at Château la Perche. We are your tourist office and also bread-depot. In summer, you can order bread and the baker comes to your house.

Further remarks
We live on B&B estate Château la Perche ourselves and are always available for questions. The deposit is 150.00 euros and can be paid on arrival. Compulsory cleaning: 75.00 euro (this includes linen). Upon arrival the beds are made for you. Electricity consumption will be charged separately at 0.30 € / kwh together with the tourist tax of 0.50 pp per day. (children up to 12 years excluded).
