The house
Le Bon Patron is a holiday home, built in 2012 in the former stable of our house in La Combe. The house has a spacious living room/kitchen and two double bedrooms, each with a bathroom. The cottage of over 80 m2 is comfortably furnished. In principle, it can accommodate four people, but it is possible to add a bed in one of the bedrooms. The dining table can seat six people. Because of the private bathrooms in the bedrooms, Le Bon Patron is suitable for a family as well as for two befriended couples, for example.
Le Bon Patron has its entrance with terrace facing west, but there is also space on the south side to place a few terrace chairs. There is plenty of grassland for children to play on. The view is free and lovely: sloping meadows, woods and a few farm houses in a small hamlet. Walks can start from the property. Plenty of peace and privacy!
Facilities in a row: terrace with table and four chairs plus two sun loungers, two double bedrooms with private bathrooms, baby cot, washing machine, gas cooker with electric oven, dishwasher, wood burning stove, electric radiators, iron and ironing board, TV/DVD player, Wifi, pets welcome by arrangement.
Le Bon Patron is a non-smoking gite, outside is more than enough opportunity to smoke.

La Combe belongs to the municipality of Cistrières and is located at about 1000 metres altitude in the Livradois Mountains, a beautiful area with many forests (parc naturel regional Livradois-Forez). In Cistrières there is a bar-restaurant.
In the vicinity are several nice villages and towns, such as La Chaise Dieu and Lavaudieu and a little further Brioude, Ambert, Issoire, Le Puy en Velay. You can make beautiful car trips, for example through the Gorges de la Loire or the Gorges de l'Allier.
There are also several swimming lakes.

Na een hartelijk welkom met heerlijke wijn en een rondleiding door beide gastheren genoten we een volle week van dit heerlijke vakantiehuis.
Wat een ruimte, zowel binnen als buiten. Netjes, zeer compleet en alleen maar privacy.
Echt een aanrader dus.

Heerlijke rustige plek in een luxe woning met werkelijk alles er op en eraan (zelfs borrelglaasjes) ;-)
We hebben enorm genoten van de fantastische omgeving en het huis.De ontvangst was top.

We zijn in deze week heerlijk tot rust gekomen. De locatie is werkelijk heel mooi. Waar je ook staat heb je een schitterend uitzicht. 's Avonds was het genieten van een prachtige zonsondergang. De gite is van alle gemakken voorzien en heel schoon. De gastheren Ron en Peter hebben ons bijzonder verwend. Heerlijk kunnen wandelen met onze hond Yip, die voelde zich ook helemaal thuis. Gezellige Franse dorpjes om even op een terrasje te gaan zitten.Ook als je van kunst en cultuur houdt valt er genoeg te zien. Kortom er valt genoeg te beleven. Het was voor ons de eerste keer maar zeker niet de laatste keer..
Activities
In the mountains, you can go for lovely walks and, if you don't mind going up and down, you can also go cycling.
The area is popular with mushroom pickers.
In the summer season, there are many markets and flea markets.
In August, there is the (classical) music festival of La Chaise Dieu.
Additional price info and offers
We assume rental per week, but in consultation a different period is possible (longer or shorter than 7 days).
The weekly prices for 4 people are for the gite with use of two bedrooms and two bathrooms (low season €525.00 and high season €630.00) . The weekly prices for two people are for the gite with use of one bedroom and bathroom (low season €455.00 and high season €525.00 ) . In 2025 our high season runs from 7 June to 6 September, the remaining weeks are low season.
In addition to bed, kitchen and bath linen, the price includes detergent, washing-up liquid, cleaning products and toilet paper.
Electricity and firewood consumption will be charged afterwards at cost price. Tourist tax is charged separately, i.e. 5.5% of the rent.
