The house
Holiday home Jardin de Thynières is located in a small partly Dutch park (25 houses).
The house is higher than the road, so there is plenty of privacy and a beautiful view, including sunset!
The house is very neat and luxuriously furnished with double sliding doors, luxury kitchen and wood stove with unlimited wood (in addition to electric heating).
Satellite TV available with also Dutch and Belgian TV channels.
In the house is wireless internet available (wifi), free to use
The holiday home is suitable for 6 persons. There are 2 bedrooms both for 2 persons and on the separable loft are 2 beds.
The holiday home also has a cot and highchair. Spacious bathroom with Miele washing machine and a 2nd toilet.
Sandpit and playground for children on private property.
There is a surfboard for paddling, not for surfing as there is usually not enough wind.
There is a nice gas barbecue with gas you can use.
In the house you will find maps of the surrounding area and slightly further away, as well as info on the many marked walks in the area. There are also 5 folders with tourist information.
There are also many games for young and old!
It is the intention that you leave the house clean when you leave.
We bought the house in 1995 and since then have been rebuilding and refurbishing Most jobs are now finished, living room is slightly extended, terrace is much larger, new kitchen, laminate everywhere, 2nd toilet, ...... We come there all holidays, so 5 to 6 times a year!

Uitzonderlijk mooi en rustig gelegen vakantiehuis. De uitrusting in het huis is werkelijk compleet en van hoge kwaliteit. In de onmiddellijke omgeving zijn mooie wandelingen te maken, en ook de belangrijkste bezienswaardigheden rond het Sancy-massief en de Cantal zijn goed bereikbaar. De aanwezige documentatie in het huis helpt je bij het maken van je keuzes, alhoewel het terras je wellicht ook zal verleiden tot een middagje luieren. Goede inkoopmogelijkheden (bakker, slager, kleine supermarkt) aan de rand van het dorpje Lanobre (ca. 5 km) en wat verder in Bort-les-Orgues..
Enig minpuntje; het is zo rustig gelegen, dat de GSM-ontvangst en het internet-signaal wel eens haperen, maar misschien is dat op vakantie eigenlijk eerder een voordeel.

There are several restaurants in the neighbourhood where it is good to eat.
- Within walking distance (small km) in Beauieu.
- In Lanobre restaurant Delmas
- In Bort Les Orgues, Hotel Restaurant Central with terrace on the Dordogne, Pizzeria La Bohème with good pizzas, but also a good meat-fish menu.
- In Le Mont-Dore and Bourboule are many restaurants with terrace.
Activities
- Varied nature, lake and forest nearby, many waterfalls, rivers and streams,
including one with a spectacular rapids where you can play in (Behind the Saut de la Saule).
- Many walks and also mountain bike routes in the vicinity. In the house lots of info and maps available.
- Mountains up to 1880m with cable cars at Le Mont Dore and Super Besse (within an hour's drive, 40 - 50 km)
- Many old volcanoes (Puy de Dome, Puy de Sancy, Puy Mary) and large volcanic centre (amusement park Vulcania)

- Old beautiful medieval villages (Salers, Besse) and spa resorts (La Bourboule and Le Mont-Dore)

Further remarks
We bought our house in 1995 and have been coming here 5 times a year ever since.
Why France? We are in love with: the terraces, the villages, the delicious food, the castles, the weather and much more.....
We chose the Auvergne and we like it here very much.
We hike, swim in the lake within walking distance, climb volcanoes, visit small markets and try out all the restaurants.
We enjoy the view on our terrace, the peace and quiet, and are still busy decorating our house (my husband's hobby!).
