The house
Great guesthouse in old stone farm with breathtaking views. The guesthouse has been completely refurbished. W offer a sitting-/dining room, a new kitchen complete with oven, dishwasher, fridge and induction cooker, a bathroom and separate toilet. The bedroom is upstairs under a great old roof. A sunny conservatory is attached to the house, giving way to the terrace and swimming pool with jet stream (in use from 1 June till 30 September depending on weather conditions)..

La Ferme Gaillard is positioned against the hills, offering a beautiful view on the valley and the Alpes. There is a very quiet road. At night there is absolute silence for the best sleep you can imagine!
La Ferme Gaillard offers lots of outdoor space with many places to relax, sit in the sun and read a book. A veggie garden and glasshouse offer fresh vegetables.
Pailhares is our village, it has a bio bakery shop. St.Felicien, 15 minutes drive, offers all basic shops and restaurants. The Rhône valley is 40 minutes drive, Lyon is 1,5 hours to its centre.
The region is famous for its offer in biologically grown food: vegetables, wines, cheese, meat, etc.

Alleen maar genoten van deze heerlijke plek: mooi ingericht huisje, zwembad(je), stilte (behalve het zoemen van de bijen) en prachtige omgeving. Warm welkom en fijne borrel. Het was allemaal top!

Restaurants, food & wine
La Ferme Gaillard is close to the best Côtes du Rhône vineyards like La Chapelle Crozes hermitage. Many winemakers can be visited. The sunny Rhône valley offers lots of fruits, e.g. its famous apricots.
St Felicien offers restaurants and in the wider area the offer ranges from good local food to the best gastronomy.
We can offer table d'hôte for some evenings, for example on your arrival day. We use our own home grown veggies!
Activities
La ferme Gaillard is located in the northern part of the Ardéche. The area is very popular for cycling because of the famous cols, quiet roads and fantastic nature. Every year, third weekend of June there is the Ardechoise, a cycling event attracting 18.000 participants!
Our farm offers direct access to great hiking paths. In St Felicien the tourist information office rents out (electric) bicycles.

La Ferme Gaillard aims to minimise its ecological footprint. We are very careful with our use of energy, we have an own source and create our own warm water. We only use bio friendly detergents!
Small pets are welcome, please contact us in advance and let us know what pets you have!
