The house
The name of the Gîte is called" The Royer "and is located in the 300-year-old mill "Du Moulin de Royer ". The mill is located in a beautiful natural area in northern Ardeche. The holiday accommodation is not yet completely finished and that means that not all photos of the interior are available yet Nevertheless, we already want to give our guests the opportunity to book for 2025. By the end of May 2025, this second cosy holiday home will be ready. We have renovated it with care and attention while preserving the authentic details. If you take a look at our other holiday home Du Moulin on the site, you will get a bit of an impression of what the interior will look like.
There is a bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. A kitchen with fridge/freezer and a 4 burner gas cooker with oven and a separate microwave. There is a cosy sitting-bedroom with a table with 2 chairs and a nice relax corner with TV with Dutch channels and a wood-burning stove. A lovely 1.60mtr bed with 2 bedside tables. Outside is an enclosed garden with a sitting area with two comfortable relax chairs and a garden table with 4 chairs and a parasol. Ardeche is a beautiful department named after the river Ardeche. The region owes its popularity partly to its beautiful weather. Because Du Moulin is in the north of the Ardèche, it is less warm here than in the south. In the summer season it is usually between 28 and 30 degrees. In spring and autumn it is often nice and warm during the day (25 degrees)The region is characterised by its authentic villages, beautiful unspoilt nature and breathtaking mountainous landscapes. There is little to no industry except in the big cities. Holiday home Du Moulin is located between two small villages. Pailharès and St Felicièn. Pailharès is a beautiful characteristic French village situated on a hill. From Du Moulin is a half hour walk through the beautiful countryside with beautiful views, St Felicién is a larger French village with markets and shops and is about 8 minutes by car and an hour and a half walk again via a beautiful route. Here there is also a tourist office, a medical centre and a pharmacy.

Restaurants, food & wine
Ardeche is known for its delicious local produce and authentic cuisine. There is a wide range of organic produce from the region, of which people are justly proud. On the Friday and Sunday market in St Felicièn, many organic local products are sold, such as various cheeses, different kinds of mushrooms, traditionally made pâtés, ham, sausages, honey, bread and many authentic wines. There is a small special shop 'Au coeur de la Meule' and a shop that both only sell local organic products. Also lots of fresh organic fruit including delicious apricots and cherries. The tourist market in Lamastre on Tuesday mornings and the farmers' market on Saturday mornings have many stalls selling equally delicious local produce.
