Surroundings
Your holiday home is situated against the fortified walls of picturesque medieval village Banne (about 500 inhabitants) The castle belonging to the town of Banne was destroyed during the French Revolution. The castle ruins are beautifully lit in summer and form a pretty beacon when driving from Les Vans. The vaulted ceiling of the ruin form the backdrop for classical music evening performances in summer. In the medieval village with its picturesque views and typical medieval street plan with small alleys, you find the restored Auberge de Banne, restaurant Le P'ti and a farmer's shop ( opened in high season). The town square with its fountain is the perfect place for a game of petanque in the evening and getting to know the locals.

Reviews
Stephanie en Miranda from Den Bosch,
Tilia from Amsterdam,

In the vicinity are several restaurants (also with pool) and wineries where you can taste and buy delicious Syrah and Merlot wines.
Activities
On the village square is Auberge du Banne, where you can enjoy a tasty lunch or diner. And you can enjoy a drink while watching the locals play petanque. Another restaurant is Resto le P'ti Fort. In the village of St Paul le Jeune (5 minutes) are shops for daily needs. There is also a weekly market on Mondays and a tennis court which can be rented (cafe de sport). Le Vans (10 minutes) has typical French cafes and restaurants situated around the market square and serves the region with its many shops. Here the large weekly market is on Saturday (9.00-13.00) and is certainly worth a visit. At 5 minutes is nature area " les Paiolive" with impressive canyon and many beaches and swimming possibilities. At 15 minutes is Golf du Château de Bournet, where you can enjoy a delicious lunch after a round of golf. Within a radius of 20 kilometres there are several typical picturesque French villages, each with its own speciality and (cultural) sights. A visit to Barjac with its Friday market is recommended. Also a visit to the Mediterranean sea is worth a day trip.
