The house
For all lovers of nature and tranquillity, this house is ideal. Hiking ( with marked trails) , mountain bike trails ( bikes for rent at the tourist office of Chatel-Montagne) or race bike , Vichy as an old seaside resort or the volcanoes of the Auvergne at 1h drive: everything is there.
And the village within walking distance with an "epicerie" with fresh bread. In summary peace and quiet but not isolated.
Rustic French house in "square" layout: spacious living room, dining room and complete kitchen, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs. Central heating and 2 wood-burning stoves make staying in winter and early and late season also attractive. All the usual appliances (incl washing machine ) and inventory complete this comfortable holiday home. 2 terraces to barbecue ( gas) or enjoy the view surrounded by a large garden. Many opportunities for the kids to play. Outside high season also for rent from other days than Saturdays. TV with Dutch channels. Swimming pool open from mid-June to mid-September. Final cleaning, water, gas and electricity are included in the price. Bed linen is provided, towels are not.

At 300m from the characteristic centre of Chatel-Montagne with its many attractions.
The house itself is isolated on over half a hectare of land. Plenty of space for all kinds of activities for children, but also complete peace and quiet, if desired.
Naturist recreation is possible on part of the grounds - including the swimming pool.

Wat hebben wij een prachtige week gehad in Chatel-Montagne.
Het huis staat op een prachtige locatie met mooie uitzichten en leuke zithoekjes. Van het zwembad en de tafeltennistafel hebben wij veel gebruik gemaakt. De ontvangst van Laurence was erg hartelijk en vriendelijk. Kortom dit huis en deze locatie zijn een echte aanrader!W. Groen from Almere,
Een heerlijk huisje in een rustige omgeving. Veel mogelijkheden in de omgeving om te wandelen met de hond.
Dinsdag's t/m zondag's kun je brood halen bij een plaatselijk supermarktje (op zo'n 5 tot 10 minuten lopen), wel de dag tevoren bestellen.
Chatel_Montagne is een kleine gemeenschap met een mooie oude Romanse kerk midden in het dorp.
Deze zomer wordt deze zomer vanaf 1 juli (dagelijks vanaf 22.30 uur) gebruikt voor een mooie lichtshow.
Lekker genoten aan het zwembad en van de grote ruimte rond het huisje.
Het contactpersoon ter plaatse is buitengewoon vriendelijke en behulpzaam.
Vanaf 1 juli is het klimpark in Saint Clement op een paar kilometer afstand dagelijks geopend. Het ligt aan een meer waar je ook kunt zwemmen of waterfietsen.
Puy de Dome is op zijn 1 1/2 uur rijden (als je 'avonds bij helder weer naast de kerk goed kijkt zie je hem in de verte liggen (op het uitkijkpunt in Vichy heb je nog een mooier uitzicht).
In Vichy kun je het operagebouw, bronnen en een overdekte markt bezoeken.
Hier is ook een hypermarche (CORA) gevestigd.
Kortom een huisje is een prima uitvalbasis voor diverse activiteiten.

Een prima vakantiewoning met alles er op en aan en rustig gelegen.
Mooie grote tuin , waarin bij warm weer altijd wel een schaduwplekje te vinden is.
Het huis ligt op loopafstand van het dorp Chatel-Montagne met een kleine supermarkt en twee bistro's.
Het zwembad is door ons niet gebruikt ( was slecht onderhouden, misschien ivm einde seizoen?).
In de regio is het goed wandelen en natuurlijk Vichy om te bezoeken over anders Lapalisse of Billy.
Al met al een goede vakantie gehad in deze leuke gite.

The town of Chatel-Montagne is home to a top-quality culinary restaurant and in the immediate vicinity (Mayet Montagne - 6 km) you will find several other rustic and all-inclusive affordable eateries

Extensive hiking areas in the wide surroundings. Peace, space and beautiful views. Also many cycling possibilities (road or mountain bike). You can hire electric mountain bikes at the tourist office in Chatel montagne

Further remarks
The pool is only secured with a tarpaulin, obviously according to the French standard. We therefore warn families with very young children that this could possibly be a risk.
