This is a region of beer and gin, of honey, fruit and home-grown vegetables, sausages and delicious regional cheeses and, of course, everything the sea has to offer.
Activities
Ideal area for strong cycling, lovely walking, daytrips to the sea, fishing or canoeing in one of the small rivers, golf, visiting old towns and villages with their castles, monasteries and gardens, not to mention the flea markets (Brocantes). In short, you can completely relax and enjoy the French countryside.

In 45 minutes you are on one of France's most beautiful sandy beaches, nearby and with free parking.
A new branch of the Louvre has recently opened in Lens. Both the building and the collection are well worth a visit!
Places like Montreuil, Amiens, Arras and Lille are also worth a visit, as are the many monuments and museums relating to the 1st and 2nd World Wars in the area.
